Kombolcha Steel Products Industry (KOSPI) is a member of the Midroc Investment Group, engaged in manufacturing and supply of different types of steel products for the construction sector and other applications. KOSPI was established in February 2000, with a total initial investment capital of Birr 76 million. KOSPI’s total capital has now reached Birr 450 million.

KOSPI owns two plants; the first one located at Kombolcha, Amhara Region and the second one being in Gelan, Oromia Region.

KOSPI’s first plant was set up on a 60,000 m2 plot of land at Kombolcha. Since its establishment, Kombolcha Plant has been engaged in production of corrugated and ribbed sheets of different sizes for roofing, wall cladding and fencing purposes. In this Plant, the Company later introduced various wire products such as nails, wood screws, binding wires, chain-link, barbed wires, galvanized gabion wires, etc along with fabrication facilities for a range of engineered products.

KOSPI’s second plant was built at Gelan on a 25,000 m2 plot of land for production of mainly fabricated engineered products. In addition, it produces some of the standard products that are similar to Kombolcha plant. Roof tiles products were later introduced in 2014.

KOSPI has earned several recognitions & awards from various government institutions, Customers and partners, as well as ISO certifications from relevant body.
